For the past twelve weeks we have been working on the bathroom remodel of a two-story, Maple Grove home. The 1990’s home featured a large master bath, complete with a Jacuzzi tub, fiberglass shower surround, cultured marble vanity top, and basic tile floor. For this project we worked with the clients from start to finish. We began by meeting to discuss goals, needs, and wants. We followed up shortly thereafter with a proposed plan and budget estimate. Once we were selected as the project contractors we began to work our way through the nitty gritty details! Aesthetically, the homeowners wanted to update the room’s style and achieve a more contemporary look. Functionally, they wanted the bath tub completely removed and the shower expanded in its place.
We began by removing the outdated Jacuzzi, allowing the room’s focal point to instead become the shower. The clients were seeking a frameless shower because of the size and angle of the shower door. We initially had a challenge finding a door that both met our client’s needs and would be able to hold up to the daily wear and tear for several years to come. To make sure we found the perfect door, we met with several Twin Cities glass companies before finding one that was able to supply the perfect frameless shower surround complete with a half-inch of glass.
On the advice of our designer, we next re-tiled the wall behind the client’s vanity and hung matching mirrors over the tile. We finished the space off with complementary wall sconces – the perfect accent for this stylish master bath!
We had a great time working on this project and enjoyed watching the room transform while still maintaining its original footprint!
